Worth Repeating was established by Ann and Steve Newroth in 1997.
The original location was in a small rental space on the other side of the main street. This space soon proved to be too small and they expanded into the location at 27 Manitoba Street 3 years later.
In 2001 they hired Karin Nickel as their employee and she worked with them for two years before she took the business over in 2003. During that time the sales were expanded online through international representation on ebay. In 2008 Karin Nickel purchased the building at 31 Manitoba Street – the present location of Worth Repeating, ca 2700 sqf space of showroom and 3000 sqf of storage space.
The concept of consignment enables Worth Repeating to accept and offer a wide variety of items and market them locally, but also world wide. The range is endless, from large pieces of furniture to small pieces of jewellery. It is a year round business that is supported by the online international sales during the slower winter months.
The latest addition of service offered by Worth Repeating is personal property appraisals. Having to deal with a number of estates each year it made sense to add appraisal for probate, but also for insurance and divorce necessities.
Karin Nickel came to Canada from Europe in 1997, where she worked as a certified forwarding agent and later on, in international sales and as an interpreter. Her love for antiques initially brought her into contact with Steve and Ann Newroth – the original owners of Worth Repeating.
She has a B.A. in the Arts and Culture from Nipissing University and is a CPPA = Canadian Personal Property Appraiser in good standing with the CPPAG.
Karin has been teaching “How to do eBay” and “Introduction to Italian” at Georgian College.
